The arbitrary-ness of grades |

All that blocky, cornery, offwidth, chimney sort of stuff feels very uncertain but is climbable for the total bumbly. It feels like you could pop off but you never do. When you are locking down on small crimps and edges it feels quite predictable and comfortable but the bumbly can't do it. My only conclussion after being scared on lots of easy climbs is that the begginner is the best judge of grades under 15.
The exception in the blueies is of course the first move. As discussed this is not considered in the grade and may be twice as hard as the climb. |
