Grade threads are fun so here's my list of Araps benchmarks with climbs high and low in the grade thrown in (using Selected Climbs grades). Remember we're talking onsight I assume.

15 - soft touch: Hell for Leather, benchmark: Resignation, sandbag: Scylla
16 - soft touch: Kamikaze, benchmark: Watchtower Crack, sandbag: Crucifixion
17 - soft touch: Iphigenia, benchmark: Checkmate, sandbag: Mari
18 - soft touch: I'm a Little Asteroid, benchmark: Entertainer, sandbag: Eurydice
19 - soft touch: Werewolf, benchmark: Lemmington, sandbag: Quo Vadis
20 - soft touch: Down & Out, benchmark: Little Thor, sandbag: Taste of Honey DS

I suspect Beautiful Possibilities is another benchmark 15, but I haven't climbed it. A mate who onsights 22 fell off Crucifixion; I got it but had to fight hard. Although I've listed routes as "sandbags", I support the existing grades if only for historical reasons. Maybe Quo Vadis would get a 20 in my book. Skink would be another benchmark 18, Eurydice is a lot easier when you know how to get onto the first belay ledge. The jams on Werewolf are surprisingly comfortable, and Pilot Error at 20 is serious competition for Down & Out. New Image is another benchmark 20, and Thunder Crack is on my "to do soon" list. We had a minor epic on Taste of Honey DS the other week, but Christian Crack is no snack either.
