I have to disagree with that. At any indoor gym, there is soooo much traffic on the routes especially by kids. And plastic isn't renowned for its grip after lubrication (haha i just wanted to use that word). I often find that you're pushing not just grades but moves indoors that no one in their right mind would do outdoors on natural gear for example, leading to a need for better grip on those greased holds.
I agree that there's no reason to throw it about though. But it's not an environmental problem or real safety concern. |
