It's probably not half as good as the beta that Big Arms could give you, but Paul Pritchard and his partner climbed a bunch of rock routes on Kinabalu a short while before braining himself on the Totem Pole. He talks about them in his book about the Tote' incident (appologies, I don't remember the title).
I remember him saying that (as Big Arms does) there were a lot of run out slabs, crazy shart granite. It sounds a bit like bassalt too, which would make sense in that area.
They also commented that you're obliged to have a guide, but they were excempt (without trying) as they were experienced climbers. |
