It's for the same reason I've withheld an adventure up Gollum (with the Skink Connection) - and recent reports suggest that it's a clip up! (Ronny!) Routes with reputations are cool though, and in a lot of cases the warning might be a bit over the top - but it is required for obvious reasons. Trying Take Five for your first grade 20 lead might prove a tad interesting for instance - but for the well-seasoned Arapiles slab master, it probably is like a sport route! Nevertheless, at the end of the day, it's just about getting out there and testing the waters of some of these things. The same goes with attempting harder routes.

PS: The fact that you climbed every route on the Watchtower Faces in a single day may suggest that you ARE an Arapiles slab master!
