f--- me – and there was I thinking that the dinosaurs had become extinct!

Yes, it must be pretty lazy spending 46 days on a first ascent (one example) to eventually establish a new grade in a country – not to mention one of the most outstanding lines in the world. Far more lazy than onsighting something well below your limit – just so you can make it back down to the patisserie before closure time.

Was that on the public walkway at El Chorro? There’s that laziness thing again… and if you didn’t want to go sport climbing – then what were you doing at a sport climbing area? Didn’t you know that there are over 12, 000 routes just over the Channel to place your gear on – and they’re not even very far from the nearest bakery either. You could have been back in the sofa, watching Coronation Street with a large custard slice before you knew it… If only you had known, eh?
