I agree that Sharpe should have been rescued. To walk UP past him was immoral. The only possible reason to not help him would be if you were likely to die in the attempt. This was clearly not true in this case. He was a couple of hours from Camp 3, below the technical difficulties, and in a similar position to ones from which people have been rescued.
I particular, I feel the professionals (i.e. Russell Brice and his crew) should have acted, and that they deserve censure (ostracism?) from the climbing community. |
