Largely rumour and innuendo, but...

There was a story around in SA a few years back about Col Reece (legendary old school SA climber) getting arrested for climbing on the War Memorial at Woomera (or some other town - not sure). The war memorial is really just a truck sized rock conveniently placed in the middle of the main street. Apparently Col was working on a circumnavigation traverse, and this was looked on unfavourably by the boys in blue.

So a few years ago while at Moonarie we asked Col about this story. Col's eyes lit up - but apparently he missed entirely the somewhat humerous aspect of this incident ... and proceeded to give us blow by blow descriptions of some of the moves (with full gesticulation).

Its a slippery slope from dedication into obsession...
