Just wanna have my piece about route-setting for the comp: For my division, the heats and semifinal were technical, fairly difficult climbs with not so much cruxes as they just got steadily harder. This is IMO what comp routes should be (to fairly distinguish between climbers). On the other hand; our final climb was a big-holded slopey crankfest that spat everyone off within a hold or two of each other. The way to get past the 2nd crux (the 1st being the 2nd hold) was to contort yourself around a feature. I don't want to sound bitter but there needed to be a better final climb I reckon. Pretty dissapointing. |
