Friends a word of warning if you have shares in telstra sell them now!

I work as a contractor for a few government organisations. One of the main customers is telstra. despite it not being sold yet it is almost totaly private. The reason being that they no longer take on many techs. Every thing is contracted out. This expensive and not well thought out stratergy is possible because of the funds pumped in by the govenrment. Once the place gets sold theses funds will dry up and they will be faced with a skill shortage as there is a lack of techs in the industry and the contractors go where the big bucks are.

I have first hand eveidence that telstra just is not spending it's money well. While working in a building full of telstra contracted call centre help line employees, I swear I was the only one working! The bottem floor had two rubber balls that were perpetualy thrown around the building. Two of the guys folowed a girl around fighting for her atention! I think one even took up smoking to impress her!

The 1st floor consited of ISDN help line guys. Some how one dude had got all his mates hired and they were always in the carpark looking at their fully sick excells and swifts!

My best mate worked in adsl on the 2nd floor and openly admitted he could do no work all day and get away with it. He reguarily took three hour lunch breaks!

That said teltra are far beter than my ADSL provider. TRANSACT. I do not wish to speak of the horrible time I had signing up for them!? apart from to say that it was far more stress full then buying my house! (when i nearly punched our solicitor!) DO NOT USE TRANSACT! THEY WILL MAKE YOU SUFFER!

I have decided that all phone/internet companies are shite! The beter ones are rip off merchants! we just have to choose the lesser of a thousand evils! Or go live in a cave with no internet conection. This may not seam so unapealing to some readers!
