hmmm ice climbing...my limted experince, 2 trips to NZ and 2 to blue lake, ice climbing makes rock climbing like a picnic...

I think the photo above shows a lot .. try placing an ice screw, with gloves on, and ice axe hanging from your wrist, maybe in bad weather, without being able to alter your stance half way through.. your arms get pumped either trying to get the axe out for the next move, or get a good placement for the current stance.. It makes placing a nut in the warm sun with your bare hands at araps feel so so easy...

But then there is the scenery, the location, and the total wilderness experince that goes with ice climbing, that kinda makes rock climbing almost feel as if its not much better than pulling plastic in the gym.....
