Did you visit Arapiles in the days of Camp Hog? (80's) Those guys went climbing. i missed it myself but, well, Hunter S and punk were an ugly combination of influences i gather.

Neil put it well, tho' his spelling is patchy.

"Climbing has always been inhabited by the more extreme elements of socitey - the ones that tend to lurk around the edges of legailty"

drug linked climbing has been there from the start. The first ever recorded rock climb,we brits like to think, was by Samuel Taylor Coleridge on Broad Stand. He of the opium inspired 'Rime of the ancient mariner ' Though technically it was a descent. Here's his trip report.( i love puns )

I, erm, agree. If you smoke too much and are psychologically vulnerable it will damage your life. Of this I am experienced. And as for the ' image department' i think the authorities will have a good grasp of the demographic and it will reflect society in general. i think this poll is a bad idea but the debate is important.M8 you seem to be saying we shouldn't talk about it. Or am i misreading your post?
