I must agree that a lot of other sports are the same. I remember training for gymnastic comps, doing unbelievable things, over and over and over. Getting hurt, getting up and doing it again. I was around 10-12 years old then (paying for it now though). I did it cause I loved it. The coach would show you a new routine or 'component' and you could just get up and mimic the move after watching him. No distractions, no failure fear, just lots of energy and you didn't have a reference as to what is and isn't possible. Then when you'd get home you'd go out the backyard and practice some more, then sleep soundly and do it again the next day.
The climbing kids are probably like this too. They see something being done and think, "That looks cool" then just mimic it. They have a flow, a lot of us lose it with age.
Sure the power to weight thing and small hands help but its more than that. It's the way kids are, they flow. |
