In the last 12 months my climbing partner has being losing more skin than normal whilst both training on plastic and climbing on rock.

This is to such a serious extent that more than one day on is no longer an option and completing a full day of climbing is a challenge.

The unusual things are;
* That it doesn't appear to be overgripping as we are both quite in tune with this.
* Skin isn't wearing just on the tips (like normal), but actually peeling from everywhere on fingers and hands.
* This didn't use to happen.

I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this, heard of similar or has a theory or solution.

My theory from the weekend is that a change from one chalk to another may hold the key. Is it possible that someones skin may react badly to different compounds or chemicals in different brands of chalk?
