Probably because the members of the canoe and mountaineering club are paying for her child / children to be in the child care centre.

I'm definitely against clubs and societies on campus which are political groups or political lobby groups and I'm definitely against any clubs making donations to out organisations, particularly political or political lobby groups. Such donations from student clubs should come out of the individuals pocket and not the clubs budget.

However, sporting or activity groups groups not only give students to opportunity to try a sport or activity that they have never encounted and would be unlikely to encounter because of where they live etc.

I know when I was at uni, very few students had any concept of what was services and facilities were provided by the various unions (student, university and sports associations) which they took for granted or that there were a heap of other services and facilities available, all the way down to garden tools and lawn mowers.
