Studying for a software engineering degree? Does that count as engineering?

I've only climbed with one fully-fledged engineer before, but then I'm 20 and climb more sport than trad. The people I've climbed with include, in no particular order: plasterers, sparkies, IT professionals, Defence suits (Hi Gav), a personal trainer, a fitter and turner, a car park attendant, outdoor education types...

So I guess, in my part of the scene at least, the answer is no. ;)
