Unfortunately natural selection comes into play here, I have seen some interesting belay and clipping techniques as well as 5+ groundfalls (all gri-gris) at Nowra.
Tag onto an 'experienced' climber who knows the safe leads. Low grades in no way guarantee safety. Low grades, less steep, more loose objects, more ledges, more things to hit on the way down.
Nowra is the school of hard knocks, the place is certainly 'sport' in the Oz sense, all the Euros I have met there complain of the sparse, dangerous, death bolting.
