I can add some tales about Simon.

I seconded him when he on-sighted the first pitch of Passport and used the baked bean tin as protection.
It was the boldest lead I have ever seen. You start off a pointed fin of rock. He struggled up 5m then
placed a poxy hex in a hole. Then another struggling 5m by which time I was wetting myself with
apprehension and was wanting to be anywhere other than watching Simon spike himself on the fin of rock
with medical help hours away. The baked bean can went in and another 5m was climbed until a decent
piece of gear went in. I took hours aiding the roof and we got benighted as cold clouds rolled in. Being
employed I decided to leave two friends behind rather than face a freezing night. I must see if I can find
my photos of Simon and the baked bean tin on Passport.

Another incident occurred when I arrived at Simon's place early one Saturday morning to go climbing.
Simon had an assignment which needed to be handed in on the following Monday. Priority dictated that
Simon work all Friday night to complete the assignment then climb all weekend. Unfortunately he fell
asleep at his desk at about 4am. I arrived to find Simon with a badly split lip .... courtesy of his head
hitting the desk when he went to sleep!
