The longest I have ever spent on a route is about 5 days I think. A few of my current projects may take longer but are good enough lines that I will be happy to keep falling off them for a while yet.

The key is to pick lines that inspire you so it is much easier to keep the motivation up. I tend to do alot more redpointing than onsighting, especially lately and really enjoy the process of getting spanked on a route and slowely putting it all together and getting the send.

If see a line that I like or someone has reccomended and I get on it I usually find it hard to move onto something else. I just get obsessed with sending the route. I guess I am generally a pretty patient person so failing over and over doesn't bother me too much.

I have never worked a route for more than a day and not come back to it.
