Many climbers advocating traditional climbing also seem to be advocating throwing caution to the wind, I don't see the point. A bolt is a bolt, if you've put the bolt in, it's in - what's done is done. Why not sink something of superior design, strength and that will last the test of time. This argument is based on logic and reason. The other one seems to be based on sentimentality, idealism and personal preference (all of them, I understand - but I think they fall short).

Bowl up to Point Perpendicular and try some of the 50m grade 17-24 routes that have a couple of sparse rings in the gaps between horizontal breaks that take friends and wires. They are not sport routes, and they are equipped practically and intelligently.
