Climbist: a person with a prejudiced belief that one's climbing style (trad, sport, bouldering, alpinist, etc.) is superior to others
Reading some of the threads in this forum inspired the idea.

Ostrich.
A climber who sticks his head in the sand and is unwilling to hear that there is more to climbing than clipping bolts and trying to make all climbs accessible to themselves to the detriment of other well establish groups of climbers.
Also believes that they have a right to climb anything that catches their eye, even if it entails freckling up the experience for others that have taken the time to skill themselves to accept the challenge as it stands.
Usually sprouts something about not wanting to get hurt because they have family and jobs and other such nonsense when the real reason is that they are just too lazy or pussy or both.

Maybe 30 years ago in the now defunct Mountain magazine was a story set after the apocalypse about the Climbist Monks. The basic story was of a novice who showed the old monks what could be done. Nothing changes does it except that the old monks only went bouldering and benjamin the hero climbed the great wall using 1930's gear.
