A few years ago I did a TMC in NZ with a guide called Geoff Wyatt, who said he used to climb with those guys. Geoff said that when they climbed The Candlestick they also named the pillar between it and the mainland 'The Matchstick'. Apparently it was years later when it was re-named 'The Totem Pole'. A bit of a shame I think because The Matchstick has more symmetry, imagination and individuality.
