am I being sarcastic ??... no not at all, and I really didn't intend for it to come across that way. My reason for saying areas still under development is only what I have read in guide books. With trad and sports routes I have always thought that world class climbing and world scale climbing were the same, I really wasn't thinking in terms of grades, moreso quality and also high calibre climbers that frequent here.

>I'd say bouldering in Australia is at a higher level than either sport or trad climbing 'on >a world scale'.

if you mean with regards to grades and levels of difficulty, you could very well be right as I certanly can't answer that, my knowledge and experience is still on a steep learning curve.
My statements came more out of the level or degrees of interest, as whilst there are a number of websites out there Chockstone seems to have the most prolific forum. From that side of things you more often here about routes being ticked than boulder problems being ticked. It could be that those out there bouldering more, don't frequent this forum.

If I can use a couple of threads for examples, this thread, Dai has done a problem of which there is only one other in the world at such a grade and it has drifted over three or four different topics in the space of 40 odd posts.
The topic 34?? questioning MA, the first sixty posts stay within the context with questioning the validity and what did or did not happen.

to me that shows degrees of interest, which is why I said that imo bouldering is still a ways below trad and sport climbing.
i'd like to try and explain it clearer but its late i'm tired and i what i think i am trying to get at is staring to sound liek drivel.
but no i am not being sarcastic it was just my thoughts on the matter.
cheers Joe
