This is the book that started me climbing! I read it in 1983; found it in the parkersburg South HS library of all places. The techniques and rank irreverence for "The System" that the book taught me inspired me to do my first direct aid route - the smoke stack behind my school where I painted my initials that day after graduation! Highly recommended read, just so long as you take it for what it is...a laughing history of U.S big wall climbing with some techniques (ancient by today's standard) thrown in for credibiliy's sake.
