Chris Webb climbs Mechanical Animals (33)
On Sunday Chris Webb made the forth ascent of Mechanical Animals (33) at Boronia in the Blue Mountains. The route had been climbed by Ben Cossey, Lee Cossey and Vince Day. The first route graded 34 in Australia, Mechanical Animals has been a controversial beast ever since the first ascentionist chipped off a couple of holds after his ascent. Despite this, repeat ascentionists have down-graded the route to 33 anyway.
