The worst offender on CS is "your" and "you're". "Your" is possessive. "You're" is short for "you are".

Seriously though, its the content of the posts that counts, not the actual words. Posts from the gutter are ok in my view - but we could draw a line at the sewer.

That was moderator Hawkprude on that one nick...I think its only the C & F words filtered, but id have to check to be sure....but I don't really care...but something else to think about, alot of Kids filter software actually block sites that have the F & C word, so by allowing the swearing in true format might mean some younger kiddies cant access chockstone.

Spell checker functions and grammar tools are a waste of time. There is hardly a computer alive that doesn't have MS Word. Taking the extra time to re-read and spell check has also stoped me from posting some utter rubbish, thinking twice is the best filter of all!

oh pffff.. shortnings like "prolly" make writing more interesting. americanisations like "nite" make me want to hurl, but just because of the way they are done, its the lazyness of those abbreviations that I think is the problem not the fact that its not Oxford. but I don't think you can moderate it really, just give people a smack when they do something annoying.

I downloaded that last night but unfortunately it crashed my OS and I overslept this morning until the mrs (re)booted me! Is there a patch to fix it?

Seriously though, Nick Kaz has hit the nail on the head.

I wouldn't like to see either moderating of swear words or too much of the grammar/spelling pedantry that's prone to infest UKC at times.

Yes, there is a patch available for download at www.ThinkBeforeYouPost.com.au (select v1.04 from the list) as the previous version had a buffer overflow...

However i'd rather read the stuff than listen to beep-beep-ba-friggin'-beep for an entire train trip while some idiot cranks it out.

In France they apparently have mobile and non-mobile carriages on trains. That's just about good enough to be able to forgive them for having given the world grid bolting.

I reckon the Mega Power Y2000 is the one for me if it can be operated on batteries.

The climbing gyms could also install these to deal with the punters who can't read the "no mobiles" signs or think they don't apply to them.

There is also a need for an even more powerful model that could be mounted on bicycles and would prevent any txting and driving within a 200m radius!

Imagine a day at the crag, there is usualy way more swearing than on the forums,

if you think about it a topic like this has less value to the climbing the comunity than for example a post with swearing about the quality of a crag.

wow i managed to get thru a whole post with out swearing, shit im good!
