A climber gets dropped a TR and clips in just before the whole sheet falls away. The relief on his face is priceless!

And that's why ice climbing doesn't appeal to me.

If you set off up a reasonably thin climb that is visibly pouring water, as that one is, then you're asking for trouble. I saw this on news.com.au, it's a bit of a media beatup that makes ice climbing look super dicey and dangerous to those who have no idea.
Those who have done some ice climbing would recognise that as the climber made a bad decision to set off up a route that was flowing water. The conditions were to warm for that climb.
I wonder if the climbers lead belayer (the guy at the bottom) copped a hundred kilos of slush on the head or not?

What I find interesting is all the laymen comments.
Particularly the ones about the rescuers remaining calm. For me its all part of the activity I do, remaining calm and controlled is important. However other people with no idea of facing risk find it amazing.

Hahahahahahaha, that's priceless patto! Like calmly facing the risk of a 3m runout on Auto da Fe, then contolledly backing off?

Sorry, there I go being too subtle again. I was trying to point out that staying calm and controlled isn't really a bragging point unless you're actually doing stuff which is dangerous :)

Sorry you are still being too subtle. But I have no desire to start making things a personal competition.
