Yes, thanks Neil - seen that - perhaps the least useful area guide I've ever seen. I understand many people wish to keep this area to themselves / under the radar, and partly sympathise. But if anyone is willing to share one of the several more informative guides that are apparently out there, I'd love a copy.

That is almost verbatum to the old 1980s Scott Camps guidesheets I used extensively in the 90s for many fun weekend at Giraween.

Yeah, I had lots of fun in the 80s too, but things have moved on a bit from then. Its possible someone has even put up a new route since then. :P

Sorry, I know you are trying to be helpful, appreciate it, and if that's all I can get hold of, I'll make do with it.

I ave 5 electronic guides for Girraween.
Every single one has gross errors.
The original Camps guide sheets may be a bit vague, but at least they are correct with only a few sandbag grades in there.

Every other guide will see you heading up grade 22, 13's.

......or wandering around wondering where you are and how the f--- they got it this wrong.

Yes, so you keep saying. I'd love to have a knowlegeable local like yourself show me around, but that is probably not going to happen - as I'm coming up with family, and this isn't going to be a dedicated climbing trip. I'd far rather see the information available on the internet in a user-editable format (eg TheCrag or other online guides). For sure the info may not be 100% accurate, as always users own risk, but its going to be much more up to date and usable than the current available information.

You can keep asking as many times as you like but the answer will always be the same.

No, somebody has shared a much more informative guide with me, thanks.

If anyone else doesn't feel like participating in whatever bizarre initiation rites are felt necessary to get information about Girraween, please feel free to contact me, I'm happy to share as well.

... maybe only after you have 'proofed' it for sandbag content.

I treat all old school granite routes as sandbagged, a strategy that has served me well :-)
