Hi all first post here.
The route description is taken from the south west vic guide.
3 star 25m grade 16 from the ritz to the rubble:
"finally a long sustained route at the youies that your not going to die on. Guaranteed to be a consumer classic"
Probably more like a 14 than 16. Start 3m right of Marmaduke directly below a u-bolt, 3 more bolts lead to DBB.
When were the bolts chopped??
Set up for an onsite lead and then first bolt chopped...
Second bolt chopped...
Third bolt well couldn't see that.
So a nice easy 16 sport lead became a 16 free climb with the rope for show only...
Checked all the sites and there was no mention of chopped bolts. Ok Im a "insert appropriate name here" for not confirming before we went up but not being able to see the bolts from the ground is usual for the youies isn't it?
So just thought i would let u all know if you didn't already some chopping has been carried out at big rock.
Royalty wall seemed ok. All bolts in place.

This was posted back at the start of the year:

Are you saying that the u-bolt at the start has been chopped? It was still there 2 months ago but the hangers were still missing.
I like the climb, was hoping it would get fixed up soon.
