Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has any experience climbing at Mt Erica Rocks? (Mushroom Rocks near Mt Baw Baw/Mt St Gwinear/Thompsons Dam)
The only information I can find on line is here on chockstone: http://www.chockstone.org/MtErica/MtErica.htm which gives a list of the climbs on their associated rocks. But there is no way of telling which rock is which. Does anyone have acces to or map or topo describing any of the climbs or at least naming the rocks so the climbs could be worked out from there?
Obviously I don't plan on climbing there now as it would be pretty cold and possibly covered in snow, but I'm in the area often and wouldn't mind having a crack.
Cheers

At the bottom of the page it lists the guidebooks that cover the area.
[edit: to be fair, perhaps the link for the Eastern Guide should go here: http://www.vicclimb.org.au/index.php?location=shop ]

Thanks mate, I didn't realise there were links at the bottom. I'll have a look at the guidebook.
Does anyone know if the climbing in this area is any good?

Never climbed there but lots of sweet looking tall granite boulders in a sweet spot.

I climbed there quite a bit when I lived in Gippsland in the mid 1980s. Fine grained rough granite with weird rounded humps for holds. You will learn about friction. The best thing is the setting. Grassy glades among the wattles with lyrebirds wandering around and parrots swooping overhead. A magic place on a hot day.

My thoughts exactly skegly :)
Thanks James. I'm looking forward to heading up there for a few climbs when it warms up a bit and the snow has cleared. I'll be grabbing a copy of the guidebook very soon
