Hi all,
The last time I was at Staughton Vale, back in March, I remember seeing a sign advising climbing was off limits during certain times of the year. I seem to recall it being the winter months...
I'm hoping someone can let me know what dates it's closed, or if I'm imagining things; and if it's open for climbing this weekend.
Cheers,
Mikey

If it's due to peregrines, young will be fledging around this time of year. Might be closed from Aug to Dec, Can't remember when exactly. It should be in the SW Vic guide book.
I've think I've seen a peregrine there once.

There's a long report about peregrins on the VCC site: http://www.vicclimb.org.au/includes/file.php?id=65 The time when Peregrines are most vulnerable is from late August to the end of November. Egg incubation
takes approximately 32 days. About five weeks after hatching, the young leave the nest and learn to fly.

Yeah, I went to look for that, but the search function on the VCC site seems to be broken - in IE7 anyway.

That doesn't surprise me. IE seems to do everything different from every other browser.
[Edit: Works in Firefox, Chrome, IE8 (kinda, the page rendering is broken, but it returns results)]

Thanks for your help guys.
Finally found someone from Parks Vic who confirmed it is currently closed (due to the baby Falcons) and will reopen 01/12.
