Do I believe a small business has the right to expand etc.?.........well, lets have a look at that. Of course you have the legal right to expand, much more relevant is whether or not its in my interests. The best way for you to expand is to get more people out to the crag, which means; more crowds, more queues, more unburied poo, more polish on the beautiful bits of rock where I like to hang out. Therefore, what's good for you is in direct conflict with what's good for me. We are, in a sense, competitors for a limited resource. I don't have anything against you personally, but if you manage to get a chain of stores up and make a packet....my climbing will probably be negatively affected. Sorry, but thats how it is.

Why the big hush hush, Steve? Is it an old fashioned idea of the discusssion of one's earnings being uncouth, or concern that a free flow of information will damage your business? I congratulate Garbie for divulging a tidbit of info on how the money is distributed, hope he doesn't get in too much trouble for it.
