More importantly there will be a slew of Belgian beers such as:

Hoegaarden Forbidden Fruit

Hoegaarden Grand Cru

Westmalle Dubbel

Rochefort 6 and 8

Duvel Golden Ale

St Bernardus Grottenbier

Having bravely stuck my liver out to test these and others I can tell you that I reckon some of these are the best beers I have had the pleasure of meeting. Some of them will be available on Friday, but there's a few that I have limited numbers of that I'll save till Saturday.

I'm glad you caught the asparagus with your hand

I better lock my asparagus patch before I go out on Friday.
9:17:07 AM
You've nothing to fear Kieran, we only catch wild asparagus, not domesticated ones.

Wild asparagus, as an environmental weed, is renowned for being sprayed with herbicides. Especially along the Wimmera river.

But you are probably safe at this time of year.

7:03:31 PM
Yeah, I should really eat the supermarket stuff. Why hope that they may have sprayed the feral stuff when i can get stuff that has definitely been sprayed with all sort of chemicals? The development of my second head hasn't been keeping up, no matter how much wild asparagus I eat.

These herbicides must be real effective. It takes years for an asparagus to produce decent stalks. How impressive they have survived the onslaught of chemicals so well that I've found massive plants there every year for the last 15 years or so.
4:57:20 PM
exactly who is spraying the wild asparagus ,I doubt it is seen as a huge problem and you only have to look at all the roadsides , water reseves and parks to realise that very little spraying is done by gov agencies . Probably the only ill effect you would ever suffer is having urine smell asparagusy . the stems literally grow in a day or two and would be very unlikely to be sprayed and even if they were they should be sprayed with coloured dye as a sign of spraying . The plants produce little for the first couple of years but after that are prolific for at least another 20 years our 4 plants now occupy about 10 sqm and produce far more than we can eat for about 3 months of the year

5:40:28 PM
Already salivating, Popeye and I will be there for Dinner.
