Geez guys, come on . . .
Just put the weight on - then you will be 70 - 75 kgs - certainly not heavy!
More important is; how tall are you? What is your body fat percentage? Current strength / stamina? Body type etc . . . Are you a competition climber or just having fun?
Putting on a few kilos of muscles ain't gonna ruin your climbing career either way?
At the upper end of the climbing game, eaking out a bit more strength is about the only option available, certainly don't know any top climbers on weight loss programs . . .
At the lower end putting on some meaningful recruitable muscle won't hurt . . .
I know I have climbed with a couple of extra kilos of rope , gear, pack etc and it's really not that a big a deal, you get used to it . . .
Of course all this depends on the above question

I thought gravity (no pun on user id intended), worked at the same rate of acceleration for all objects regardless of weight, but differences in surface area can have a slowing effect on some objects.

Sweet. I'm working on thinking lighter, like 50 kg light. I thought I sucked at climbing, but I now realise it's the additional 47Kgs I'm carrying that suck at climbing.

You could catch this stomach bug I've got. Down about 4kg in 7 days so far. It's not even the messy exploding type.

I do seem to have a pretty odd digestive system,. China could be interesting.

and he emphasizes, in that, that the Chris Sharma body type is the exception rather than the rule with elite climbers - most of them are weigh bugger all and are whippet thin, like Adam Ondra.

Extra weight will not be definitely detrimental. See The Beast Within Training School for personal rock climbing training.

I think you are right Mr skip-skip. Less can be more but in the end it is less, and the photos I see published of anorexic climbers (often women), makes me shudder to think of the gastronomic sacrifices they make in their grade chasing.

Maybe it helps them by imagining a big burger on the top of the route...
