I also found Allianz as the most reasonable priced travel insurance that covers climbing. It was less than a third of the price of insure4less. But it doesn't cover bouldering.

https://travel.virginmoney.com.au has an Adventure Pack which includes rock climbing (with ropes)
It uses Allianz actually, but has better prices?!

When I purchased for the Greece/Spain trip last year, Allianz and Virgin had virtually identical t's & c's, but Allianz was the cheaper.
Might vary from month to month.

Diplomat/Global Underwriters now specifically exclude "Citizens of Australia and Iran".
Not sure what we did to get lumped in with that one ..
I'm looking for insurance for a ski trip that includes backcountry touring - the Haute Route which I expect falls into the definition of "mountain climbing using ropes".
Can't find anything. Anyone able to assist?

I've used insure4less for backcountry skiing - check out their 'snowsports' coverage, and choose the 'off piste' addition to get a quote.

They won't cover Canada unfortunately.
I went with Tick insurance, not perfect but was the closest fit to what we were after.
I conclude a lot of the "shop front" brands are using the same underwriters so the conditions tend to be identically worded.
