I dont think I have ever been offended at the gym/outdoors ever buy a male, neither am I put off because of the ratio of males to females. This doesn't bother me at all, and to me it's not really an issue. Of course its different for everyone though, I see it as, climbers are climbers regardless of their sex. We're all here to climb so lets get on with it.
Unless you get someone like Damien here who puts himself on a pedastal thinking he's the best that there is to offer, 'wankers' ? well that came right out of left field didn't it!?
Not exactly off to a good start huh!

i reckon its a shame if some girls do get put off climbing due to the male to female ratio in climbing cos i believe that one thing climbing does need more, it is female climbers.
especialy since females have so much portential on rock. for some reason girls just have such good technique and foot work. if a female has a bit or strength in the upper body and a bit of determination then youve got a hardgirl cos for some reason they just know how to move.
i wish i was a girl!

Remdan--- '...some girls...' need to understand the distinction between male-dominated environments and PREDOMINANTLY male environments---BIG difference ,dude.
You wish to be a girl ? Think carefully : ' I wouldn't make a very good woman---I'd spend all day fondling my breasts ! ' (Steve Martin)

it the age old battle- skaties and rollerbladers, rollerbladers and razor scooters, surfers and lidders, climbers and gym bunnies....fine if you get your jollies out of pulling plastic-you sure arent getting in my way- but to tell a bunch of climbers that they're spending their lives on 'boring old rock' isnt going to get you anywhere mate.
especially if you introduce yourself by calling us wankers and having a shot at picking up someone we're conversing with....
