I did! I usually carry a bunch of nappy bags and wet wipes in my pack (the joys of kids) so it's pretty easy to pack out random junk. People leaving "organic" waste isn't an issue in my mind, though leaving behind garbage is not on.

New world record for grossness: While climbing at Booroomba yesterday I was thrilled to find a tampon on the second belay ledge of Incisor!?!

I did not carry it out! What's the half life on those things?

Not even close. I had to sit on a hanging belay in the Dolomites next to a used tampon, diarrhea spray and the underwear used to mop up the bloody shit stained mess.

Yeah I agree.

Duncan - I wasn't telling Olbert not to leave apples at the bottom of climbs... I saw that he clearly put out of sight. -others however do leave apples etc at the bottom of climbs and if everyone did yuk yuk yuk... x

The weather is fûcked. I am sick. I suppose it's better than the weather is awesome and I am sick but it just seems like two things to be grumpy about right now.

You made me laugh Adam, but I still haven't figured out what the guy in the yellow monster suit carrying the syringe disposal bucket is all about!

That's me and I'd just been to Bi-Lo to buy a 5kg bucket of washing powder.

My yellow monster suit takes a fair bit of washing.

I'm pissed off because I have moved to NSW from VIC, 2 hours drive to the Blue Mountains and I'm climbing less than before I moved here....and it was a 6 hour drive to Araps!! What's that all about?? I think I need to make some serious changes to my life....again.

Doesn't sound like you need to make serious changes to life, seems like you need to go to the mountains more often :-P

The is a very good reason. Victorian climbers are a committed bunch. If you have to drive 4 hours one way and have to camp then you are usually a highly enthusiastic climber who puts climbign before anything else. I find many NSW climbers think of climbing as just something to do in between visits to the cafe or pub. It's rare to find them out cranking all day for both days of a weekend. It's also a lot to do with camping out - NSW climbers usually don't camp, they drive home every day. The climbing is closer but it doesn't equate to more climbing getting done! :-)

I knew i'd offend someone with that baseless statement! So where is the NSW campground equivalent to Araps or Stapylton then? Of course not every climber in NSW is like that - im just sharing my feelings after moving to NSW from Victoria. I think maybe its got to do with the amount of climbing (and style) you can get done in NSW. It's pretty easy to get worked over by hard sport climbing in a short amount of time when the walk-ins and the driving times are also short. So you can squeeze an equivalent of a full days climbing into a half day, which would take all day in Victoria. I'm probably not making a lot of sense. I miss camping in Victoria, dawn starts and stumbling back into camp after dark... but I also like actually doing things other than climbing on my weekends. Yesterday I managed to go climbing, go scuba diving and do some gardening at home.

I know what you're talking about, Neil. In my 36 week stay in melbourne I spent 33 of those weekends travelling to the gramps or araps to do full-weekend trips.
When I returned to Sydney the "convenience" of having the mountains so close meant that I rarely planned trips and transport ahead of time so often I ended up planless, partnerless and thus, climbless!

Yes indeed. Usually because people climb in larger groups in NSW, you also don't have the solid 'partnership' thing. It's very common to just meet everyone at Blackheath or Berry at 9am and decide where to climb then with a group consensus (usually with everyone driving up in different cars!). I find everyone waits to the very last minute to lock in their plans. In Victoria the decision on what to climb and who was going was probably made on the previous tuesday - and everyone packs into the one car to save money on fuel.

Try 9 months... and counting with no climbing for a shoulder issue. I am well and truely PISSED OFF!
