Well I just figured it was a tRad dog - coming from England and all, so bring it . . .
If it's just another piddling spurt dog - we have too many of them here as it is - so leave it . . .

Hmm, ~ brings to mind some aggro posts on Chocky and levels of tolerance.
Policy has been implemented and at least one poster has been filtered out (but if that person amends their ways may be allowed back?); ... may be rare though, ... a bit like a reversal of a desexing?

True.
(... was only generalising qman).

They made a film about that a while back didn't they?
... I think it was called 'They shoot horses don't they' !!
Bit of passion happening with 'whaling', 'dredging', 'saying sorry' ... and all sorts of things at the moment.

I took my woofs to a very contentious crag in the Blueys the other day.

"Ya can't bring those dogs on the bus, you'll hav’ta leave 'em at home".
~> We showed him!
Reckon it to be about a grade V4woofs! ... and you have to be really careful not to barndoor off on the LH corners.

To reply to the original question I imagine your dog will have to go through quarentine which involves a holiday in a box for said dog. When you get your dog out you will, unless you are totally socially dysfunctional, figure out th aussie way of the dog. Australians in general have a very strong native vs non native animal thing. This is why free range kangaroo farming is good. National Park rules are seen as something to be respected and most people do obey the rules in there stride. Not that we all agree with national park management.
Now to tonyB. As Dutch said " If it bleeds, we can kill it." You are an animal. Nothing has rights just the privledges afforded by enviroment. Nothing has rights as by its own nature it is nothing. You your self are food. Interaction with any other is due to emotional deficet. We would sit and die if we did not lack (the desireing machines thing).
As to your friend, shit happens.

Do you have a dog ? If it bleeds, we can kill it
No one would notice one more, along with the 500,000 unwanted dogs killed in Oz each year. I'd much rather see your dog die than my friends.

widewetandslippery does have a Rotweiller. A bloody big one!
TonyB, does that make him more emotionally crippled than someone who has a Miniature Poodle?

Can't really comment on this one, as I haven't met any of your friends. If they as easy going and footloose as you, I reckon I'd side with the big furry fella. He cerainly doesn't bite as much as you do.
And Doddy, why aren't you climbing on your day off?

Hello dearies.
Since I notice there are so many dog loving people on this thread caught up in so much spray from other internet users, I would like to share the following screen cleaner with them that I found. This new device cleans your monitor screen from the inside and I am sure you will love it.

My favorite scene is sicko on the end of a leash, standing by patiently, pretending to look interested, while his girl buries her nose into another dog's shit. Then sicko gives his girl a kiss. I suppose it's easier for sickos to buy a bitch from a pet shop than trying to pick one up.
At least the sickos on the leashes are the more responsible ones ... the others are responsible for the 100,000 dog attacks in each year in Australia and the hundreds of kids who get their faces bitten off each year.

You call other people emotional cripples and many other insults, yet its clear you have no understanding of the simple emotional attachment that is possible between a human and a pet. Whether a cat, dog, rabbit, whatever, these relationships can provide a lot of comfort and love to both parties. Yes, some people are irresponsible owners, others may be unhygienic. The problem is with the people, not the animals. And yes, castration is part of responsible ownership.
Your numbers are very dubious, another statistic easily found (Medical Journal of Aust) gave 10,339 presentations to hospital in victoria, over 7 years... Only a few orders of magnitude difference, easy mistake to make...
Ban irresponsible idiots before you ban dogs. As far as humans with problems, go take a look in a mirror.

Just to dredge up an old one and fire a shot at an old mate....
Tony is guilding the lily a little here (Hands up if you're surprised)
http://www.acac.org.au/pdf/dog_bite_incidence_prevention.pdf
It is actually...
"The Accident and Emergency Departments of the nation's public hospitals treat an estimated 12,000 and 14,000 people for dog bite injuries. Almost 1,400 of those have injuries that are serious enough to warrant hospitalisation. The majority of injuries inflicted by dogs are not serious, and the mortality rate is extremely low, but dog bites can cause severe physical and emotional damage."
Also:
"Over 60% of dog bites occur either at home or in the home or backyard of a family member, a friend or a neighbour. Only about a third of reported dog bite incidents occur in public places."
The edifice of the Human Induced Dog Bite theory is crumbling and public opinion is turning against what is the greatest scientific fraud perpetrated since they faked the moon landing.

Once again the left-wing dog-loving hippy evanbb is WRONG. My macro clearly shows an increase in dog attacks since 1999.
and who is going to believe the ACAC. Their servers got hacked and the emails show dog-loving vets are actively colluding to drop dog attack numbers. One even wants to change the process of reporting dog attacks so that it is only deemed an attack is 5 or more stitches are required. Disgusting!

Slow day at work evan?
Heres my take on this.
My girlfriend has a dog. He has bitten me three times since christmas. What have I learnt from this? I have learnt not to tease him with the BBQ leftovers when I have had too much to drink. I have also learnt not to make him ride in the tray of the ute, thats only fair, if someone put a piece of chain round my neck and attached me to my ute and drove off I reckon I would probably bite them too.
If he drinks too much, runs around and throws up he gets a pat because he cleans up after himself by eating his own vomit. If I drink too much run around and throw up I usually pass out and then get a severe beating from my girlfriend because I dont eat my own vomit (even when Im pissed), which usually gets me a second beating because we all know how much fun it is cleaning up after yourself when you have a hangover that would kill a wallwombat.
Largely depends on how youve been trained...
