I'm gutted that I have to work this Saturday and the weather at the Grampians is meant to be sunny and 18 degrees.Told my wife to prepare for a sickie and she said she was disgusted and that I wasn't showing the kids a good work ethic! Does everyone else think I have my priorities wrong?
My wife would never tell me I cant go climbing but that doesn't stop her gently trying to get me to stay home on a Sunday when the chance arrives...example this week...pulled up lame after trudging around the bush last Sunday and wife finally noticed on Tuesday I was hobbling..and comes straight out with the gem...
..."Maybe you should stay home this Sunday and rest up...touch footy starts in 2 weeks and you want to be ready for that."
I Lol'd she could actually say it with a straight face with a hint of concern...also I know her version of resting up would be to get me out in the garden anyway :)
My girlfriend talked me into staying home this weekend to work on a course I need to complete to get promoted (maybe this belongs in the pissed-off thread, or the procrastination thread... actually, every thread is a procrastination thread).
Last time I took her climbing she got scared during the scramble to get down to the crag, so she told me to go on and she'd hang out at the beach. Of course I was in trouble for it later.
This is why climbers should only date climbers. This may involve turning gay because of the ratio of women, but it's worth it!
One good thing about offspring, I pay my daughter $10 to go climbing with me. She is happy and I am happy. Silly little bugger doesn't realize I would probably give her the money for nothing. I'm a cunning devil. Still gutted it is raining in Victoria. Probably won't have a sickie tomorrow and go to work instead. My wife wins but I will have that sickie later.
