A suggestion for a gathering location from a selfish Geelongian that will probably go down like a lead balloon. What about the You Yangs!!!!!!?????. BBQ facilities, heaps of room to swing a cat...and a variety of locations...gravel pit tor...north west outcrop...eastern walking track...royalty walls...sport climbing(of sorts) at urinal wall and good old big rock. Whaddya reckon????

Just to pick dates out of the air....April 10th, 17th or 24th?? provided no other major trips like VCC (or any other) are on.

At least a months notice...

I think a lot of clmbers are not into the Youies... too many thin crimpers and horrible slabs. The area is too spread out as well. At least with Camels we are in in the same area.

Werribie isn't very BBQ friendly! It woudl be a long way to drag in an esky and the BBQ trailer...

Camels Hump is also far better in the warmer months than Werribee. Better climbing also.

4th April at Camels Hump. That should give of heaps of warning and dosn't appear to conflict with any VCC trips planned.

You'll get another shot at Poxbow then Terry!

I reacon it'd be ace for the 4th, and for Camels.... seeing as I live in Woodend and go there all the time anyhow!

maybe each car full of stuff to sell could pay a fee that would be put towards Climb Safe

Alrighty then, Sunday 4th of April it is! I've put up a Chockstone Gathering page where I'll place any details. If anyone has further info email it on over and I'll add it to the page. For instance, is this swap meet thing a goer? Is someone able to bring the big trailer barby again? We might have to consider the Camels parking lot or one of the picnic areas further up the Memorial Cross road for lunch.

We were hoping to get the T-Shirts printed before the next gathering now that a design has been decided upon, but I think this may still be a long shot. However we should at least have an pre-order form by then.

In any case the day should be great! Looking for to it already. Here's hoping for sunny weather.
