World Climbing - Book Competition - Nov 2005

Tall poppy syndrome at its worst. Everyone wishes they had a job that involved traveling the world with
gorgeous (insert sexual preference here) persons whilst climbing and photographing.

Tough life Simon? ;-)
2:34:55 PM
Sigh... yes, it's a tough life Neil...

But you'll just have to come along to the BOOK LAUNCH AND SHORT BEHIND THE SCENES SLIDE SHOW at RMIT on Wed 14 Dec (or Katoomba tonight, or Canberra tomorrow) to find out just how damn tough it is!

Rock Weasel, whoever you may be:

I find this comment extremely confusing. Perhaps you could explain?! What is your beef with more people, whatever gender they may be, participating in climbing? I assume you yourself are a climber? If so, the sport has no doubt given you heaps of fantastic experiences and memories. Wouldn't you wish the same for others? I do. Thus the reason there are people in this country (of whom I am one) who are working really hard to try and encourage more women (and people in general) into climbing, help raise the standard of climbing in Australia, and help raise the profile of Australians in climbing.

Yep, what climbingjaq said! ...doing my bit too whenever I can.

To those who haven't, you have to go and buy World about drool material, it's unreal and I'm totally psyched to go tick off some projects the images from Canada, brings back some very fond memories and also the Czech ones, how scary does that look! Something to look fwd to next March! Good one you Simon, brillant work mate, some of the best photos I've ever seen.

Thanks Paulie, that's most kind of you.

Only some so far. We've sent orders to Bogong, MD's and Anaconda so maybe try those places first. We haven't had time to follow up w the other outdoor shops - yet. We've also got a distributor handling orders for the mainstream bookshops but I have no idea which of them may already have it in stock.

Good post Bob. Maybe Weasel and Hex will find it instructive.

That's 'Stuck in Little River' to be precise. You're probably right but I'm not exactly functioning properly yet, my body thinks it's 3 in the morning and I should be asleep!

Sounds about right. You just need a cup of tea and a roley before boulering, and you'll feel right back home
