Don't have any details like that at all, yeah it was an SMS from Val but not her phone, was an Aussie number though so may have been from a phone belonging to Jo or Han.

Done so but not expecting a reply back in a hurry as the phone network is most likely screwed there now. Surprised I got the first message even as i've seen what I assume is the the Railey mobile phone tower and its a not very large tower just off the beach..

An Abrieviated Letter from Joe And Hahn:
it's all happening in thailand!!
just letting you guys know that WE'RE OOOOOOOOKAY!
we got a small earthquake and then we had two tsunami's that ruined ton sai beach.
the freedom bar is gone as are all the longtail boats. apparently there's a longtail now living in the railay resort pool...
we were up the hill at the time and so far, everyone we know is safe.
bec and james had a VERY close call. they nearly got hit by the first wave on the walk to eagle wall but they made it back safely.
the plan is to walk to ao nang in the morning and make our way to krabi, surathani and then train to bangkok.

I'm in Japan at the moment, I met an aussie today who's itinerary for tomorrow is: (get this) Chenai, via Sri Lanka. 2 of the worst hit areas.

Apparently the wave was high enough to reach the lower part of the roof of freedom bar (for those of you who know Ton Sai). Val was up on the climbs above the ladder and watched it come in.

I'm due to arrive in Krabi on new years day...
Shaggy, from what you know, will there still be bungalows sans indoor pool? I don't know how far up the
hill the accomadation is located.
I feel kinda strange tho... I'm worried about my trip when thousands of people have just been killed :{

Not sure what Val is going to do - think she was going to send out an email. Apparently Andamans is still doing fried rice (that's all they have left).

Jack, firstly, when and how did you get into my house and get it??? No one here knows that you came, and secondly phhht, for taking it, it's like my baby, you drop it, you own it, and it requires alot of attention, it crys alot, feels lonely and left out, and generally needs a cuddle now and then.
Be sure to use it properly, and don't release it without holdong the end!
Al, yeah, it appears all is fine, only know through second hand info, but evryone is still sticking around, so I guess everythings still there, except the long boats.
