Thanks for your advice everyone (Hey Shaggy!)

Here's the plan. My two stops are New York and Denver.

In New York I can go up to New England easily or just hang out.

Denver I'll find out where the snow/ice/rock is best when I'm there and drive (or fly) there.

Denver is a hole - but the town of Boulder nearby is a climbing mecca. The totally three star Flatirons, Eldorado Canyon and Boulder Canyon is all within 15minutes drive... and heaps of other areas are an hour away. Really great town as well. Don't miss a visit to Neptune Moutaineering shop. It has one of the most amazing collections of mountaineering museum pieces around. You will have lots of fun!
