>Could the ethics be extended to include aid climbing a ladder on punks
punks is bullshit, its a ladder anyway- last time i was there warming up for my photo shoot the photographers all got pissed off that i was making any 'hard' faces- well what am supposed to do with my hands almost up to elbows in jugs?
if you want a real climb to try and aid up, come up to sydney and we'll show you the DESPERATE stuff one sunday arvo at the K

Under new occupational health and safety working at heights regulations, you need special training before being permitted to climb ladders. However, the regs do not apply to rockclimbing. Maybe adding ladders isn't such a good idea.

Thanks for the offer 'mighty'...if we apply the same principles of vicco and NSW bolting surely the ladders we use to aid in your neck of the woods will have to have the rungs much closer together...wink wink

Never heard of cheat-sticks? (aid equivalent of sport 'stick-clipping').
With a telescopic marlin rod MM should be able to reach past the crux jugs on Punks after top-stepping the Phil(thy)-ladder?

OH&S applies specifically to people employed to climb the ladder as part of their job spec. So only sponsered world class climbers would be allowed to use said ladder over punks.

OH&S guidelines do not apply to people using ladders for recreational pursuits!!!!!!

Maybe we could improve the decent from the Bard... those chains along with the down climbing is scary.

Nah, that’s not necessary. I think that those chains on Alis should be removed. I mean, there are some things that should be bolted, and some things that shouldn’t.

no dont remove them, jusst put them closer to the climb to save walking, but camouflage the chain to make it more inconspicuous.
then hang a futon off of it.
we'll keep the fairies busy

Eeeuhg, scary downclimbing ...
It should be possible to have steps installed.
'Dinkum Dave' would probably approve unless someone called it chipping?

I took me ages to find the way through Ali Babas cave the first few times, even rapping off the mank bit one time.

The descent also need a signpost :)

Why not just floodlight the whole place and then in the heat of summer you can spend the days dozing in a hammock and then in the relative cool of the evening one can go climbing.

Or just go the Bio-dome option, and then you get lighting, air-conditioning and no more being at the weathers mercy.

maybe a bit sensible for this thread but when descending down Ali's i have a draw from my harness that i just clip over the chains and slide it along as i descend, clip another one where chain ends/starts and unclip old one...great for piece of mind but while we are talking about ladders on climbs and such tomb foolery why not have cable cars from the top back down to the pines with spa's or sauna's to sooth those aching climbing muscles...could even put a futon in to keep 'mighty' happy.

MM wouldn't be happy with just the futon, ... he wants the singing
>polish lesbians
and grapes as well !

Keep the adventure going.
Why not a super-size flying fox instead of cable cars !

Been thinking, (now this is dangerous), both my sports of passion are fairly lacking logic, Skiing and climbing. Skiing (refering to resort skiing without skins), you spend a small time skiing down, and then you get on a lift that takes you back to the top. Now climbing, we climb up, and then are possesed with the misfortune of having to get back down. So My proposal is that we should make Arapalies a couple of thousand meters taller, then we can climb up and then ski down.

See, perfect logic!

why not have escalators (with futons on them!!) going up for base jumpers and down for climbers...that way if you arent really sure what to do you can just go up and down and up and down. great view!! also have nifty movable escalators like in garry potter but you can control where it moves. the getting to photo vantage points is much easier and you can control where people go as well ie. the people who wouldnt let you have fun the night before, claiming they needed sleep, can go to the underconstruction escalator, while the hot 'rockbunny's (such thiing?) are imported to my personal escaltor, which happens to run alongside the one all the dude with sick dreads rollin free spliffs are on
(yo diggit?)
