I guess Simons Calander doesn't conflict with our sponsor RH - so thats a good reason to let it pass. I'll
warn him to minimize the commerical links and 'high pressure sales techniques' a bit. ;-)

I love the definition of the wake/wash from the boat, and the contrast between the man-made and natural colours, in that photo

I thought this might come up. OK, Neil, warning noted. But if I do it again will you promise to give me a good spanking sometime (if they let me out of China)?

But seriously... no pressure… You know, I could go about it as subtly as possible or more blatantly (what would people prefer?) but at the end of the day I think it's a legit topic for the forum. Anyway, I personally don’t consider this calendar to be simply a commercial product and hope others will see it similarly. Also, the way I see it, the calendar has been a topic of conversation before (for all the wrong reasons), so now should be OK too (for the right reasons). Cheers for the understanding.

I personally think that this is fine, in principle - Simon's calendar is a commercial venture but is an enourmously positive promotional tool for the sport of climbing. I reckon anyone trying to make a living from activities deriving from the sport of climbing can do with all the help they can get.

Only issue I see is one of fairness - in the context of formal sponsors of Chockstone (RH?) who presumably pay for their advertising. But, the post into a thread in the forum by Simon is a very minor plug and probably doesn't compare to the coverage of the sponsor

I'm goonna buy a copy of the calendar regardless, and was pleased to hear the new edition is available.
