Just shows how much you know Mr Slabofwestenddraught. My brian is in perfect mint condition, as its never been used for nufink.

And as for competency, it's like all those tickets you need to be allowed to go abseiling on buildings, they mean you're competent, not any good. Just like the coffee in Horsham.

Hmm,
I seem to no longer be able to access the Safer Cliffs Australia forum section ?
Is this part of a Safer Cliffs initiative as I previously could see it . . .
Honestly, I am not that dangerous imho . . .

Hi Neil

I do not seem to be able to access the Safer Cliffs section of the Chockstone Forums anymore??
Any idea what the problem is? Can you re-instate access please?

Cheers
MM

P.S. I previously had access but that seems to have changed since XMas . . .
Have I been removed from the group membership for some reason?

Hi All
So are there any other SCA Admins who can re-instate access for me?

When are you going to get that priviledge, to break the monopoly carry on if a bolting accident happens to the one and only-
?

Well I must admit I was quite surprised to find I could not access it . . .
I am presuming everyone else can ? And that I am the only one de-registered, not sure why . . .
I received no warnings or notifications or anything, and no real response from admin either . . .
Is there really only a single admin for it all? Certainly does not reflect well on them . . .
And so it also does not reflect well on the site - I wonder what the site sponsors make of it all . . .

I have received a few suggestions on how to hack my way in, if I wanted to . . .
But it might be easiest if someone could just PM me the stuff instead . . .
Would like to see the opinions on the merits of the various glues, for reference purposes . .
And as a long-term proponent of the double-helix masonry bolts would like to see that thread . . .

So if someone could PM those threads it would be appreciated greatly . . .
And it may even help to make the cliffs a little safer . . .

I am well aware of that - always figured it was autocratic/authoritarian/despotic . . .

So what is it really? a totalitarian megalomanic dictatorship . . . ?

If so, then the concept of 'Safer Cliffs Australia' is a misnomer . . .

And given major proponents of it do not even abide by its guidelines, it's becomes farce . . .
And it gives credence to the proposition that it is nothing more than a 'Pro-Bolters Club' . . .

So I guess the answer to the original question is 'No, They are not 'safer' cliffs, if anything the cliffs are more 'at risk' . . .
Maybe it should really be called 'Safer Climbers Australia' - at least then we could all have a good honest chuckle about it . . .

Don't stress about it Macca the discussion is pretty boring - someone wants to know what the best glue for fixing up some pox route no one ever does called Shai Halud (or something like that) on taipan is. That's all.

Boy, that is a lot of whining. Why would you want to be a member of a 'club' that would have you as a member?

Don't take it personally Macciza, I too am now denied access to the Safer Cliffs Australia pages.

Perhaps because I asked the question "Are they really Safer Cliffs?"

I guess now I'll never know the answer! ;-)

It's a shame that you can't participate any more Kuu, seeing as the other big initiative of Safer Cliffs (once Shai Halud has been glued together) is to bulldoze Linfield. You know, too high for bouldering, too short for routes.......safest solution is to just get rid of the stupid little thing ;)
