Wow, I retract my earlier statements.

c--katoo, maybe lawn bowls would be a better option for you in the future.

Anyone who climbs long enough climbs with 'cowboys' eventually and these guys don't sound like it all!

Yeh, i think i may have jumped the gun without getting all the facts and formed an oppinion based on the image i created in my mind from reading OP dramatisation.

Sorry for calling you a clown.

Unless of corse you actually are a clown, then i'm proud to have called you a clown.

If you are ever around Canberra , wildRocks and fatclimber, i would love to give you a lift to the local crags as a gesture of good will. And i wont just leave you there, LIKE SOME ONE ELSE WE KNOW , just p.m me.

Yeah, so my partner and I were just leaving Piddo at lunchtime (to go and hang out at the pool, then hang out in the cinema.......why were people climbing in the sun? Insanity!)

Anyway, I wanted to squeeze in a lap on Eternity before the sun came over the cliff, but there was a rope flaked at the bottom.........I ended up in a mexican standoff with an american bloke (wildrocks) as I looked at his rope flaked at the base, he looked at me all racked up and ready to go, I looked at his 2 climbing partners (c--katoo and fatclimber) who were toproping a nearby route on another rope.....he looked over his shoulder hoping in vain for rapid progress, I smiled. Checkmate! I dropped my rope on top of his, no belayer means you forfit your turn.

"We're not ready, you guys go ahead" he offered. (you fuching prick, of all the routes at this cliff you have to do this one now?)

"Thanks, very kind of you" I replied. (as if you're in any position to do anything about it, numbnuts)

Wildrocks wandered around the corner as c--katoo flapped about on the easy thing, I took off up Eternity at speed (not trying to make way for the other party, but the sun was nearly peeking over and I hate climbing in the summer sun). Anyway, I zipped up to the anchor. My partner had lost interest in climbing after stubbing the shit out of her toe on the previous abseil, so I cleaned on rap, coiled the rope and ditched the harness. Noon in summer means its time to hit the Blackheath pool. Anyway, Wildrocks reappeared, and having not witnessed the cunning timesaving trick of only one person climbing, must have assumed that we were good or something.

"Wow, you guys were really quick" he said (thank christ! From your goofy looking face, I just assumed that you were the sort of shanker who'd tie up that route for an hour)

"Yeah, we do ok" (Sucker! If I wasn't on something I've climbed 50 times before, you'd form a more realistic opinion)

So, as I was packing up, wildrocks racked up for Eternity, while fatclimber put him on belay (she's not fat, btw), we made a bit of smalltalk, they were both very friendly and normal folk.......meanwhile c--kortwo was scurrying around, peering into his guide with a strained expression. In retrospect, I imagine he'd already begun to generate internal drama regarding the whole bolt plate thing. Anyway, he never came over to say hi........I suspect there was already stress amongst the party.

But all that is speculation and a crappy trip report, what I did want to add is this; I stayed there long enough to see wildrocks do the first half of Eternity, and he was cruising. Wildrocks has that annoying textbook crack technique which most yanks seem to aquire (body sort of snakes up and there's always a high foot doing most of the work). He clearly had grades in hand, and if he's only been climbing 2 years he's way better than I was at that stage........totally solid climber.

Didn't see much of c--kortwo, but his version of events is so incompatable with what I saw that I'm pretty happy to file him in the dipshit draw................hang on, is that music? Ooh, switch channels, its time for........

Great to have a name to a face, ODH! You're much less acid in reality than in writing, hahhaha :)
