Hey WW, Similar - always have been a map and compass guy but recently splurged (used the money from the pitons you bought off me!) to buy a Garmin 76CSX. I'm definately a techno-gumby but this thing is pretty easy to use. I love the tracking function to see where my paragliding fights have taken me - you can even dump the track over Google Earth or topos - very cool! Anyway, I bought mine from MrBoats on Ebay (great price and fantastic service) and then downloaded free Aussie maps (Shonky Maps) and topos (Contours Australia) from http://www.gpsaustralia.net/ Nice toy! GoUp!
