Fair enough.
Careful which shackles you use. If you don't expect it to break at the stitching, the only other location is at the shackles, so get them the same diameter as your biners and put the sling on the pin which is straight and should load it evenly.
Lay something like a plastic bag full of sand over your setup either side of the sling to stop it flinging back when it breaks.
