My first rope was a Sterling Marathon, I think that it was a 10.6, probably the predecesor to the Marathon Ultra. It was an excellent rope and lasted very well. I would recomend it very highly, the only downside to is is that the "drycore" treatment which stops the core from absorbing water is probably a waste of money and the treatment wears out anyway. In the roughly five years of life which I got out of the rope I had a use for the dry core only once. In conclusion, get the Sterling there great ropes, my sterling outlasted my second rope which I bought two years later (a Roca).
